Planning permission has been granted for a 109-room hotel in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.
The site is to become a part of the new Hampton by Hilton budget hotel brand and will provide a number of hospitality jobs in the region, according to a report in the Birmingham Post.
As part of its development, the building's front will be retained and a bar and restaurant will be created on the ground floor, while bedrooms will be housed on the upper floor.
In addition, a new four-storey contemporary building will be developed to the rear, separated by a landscaped courtyard.
Great Hampton Group chairman Harry Kenth told the newspaper: "We were keen to bring this site back to life as we are very keen on regeneration and the hotel when constructed will create many new jobs in the Hockley district."
Last week, plans to develop a 120-bedroom Hampton by Hilton hotel in Sunderland were given the go-ahead, reports the Sunderland Echo.
The hotel will be located above Joplings department store in the city centre.
